DESCRIPTION & DETAILS
Alexander Marine are pleased to have SOLD this 2008 Grand Banks 72 Aleutian RP.
The focus was on building a safe, capable and comfortable long-range yacht - and testament to her capabilities 'Liberty IV' had completed voyages to PNG in the north and Tasmania in the south. Her envisaged cruising plans influenced her Skylounge configuration - indeed she was the only 72 Aleutian ever built with a Skylounge - which had proven itself to be a wonderful space from which to watch the world pass by in absolute comfort regardless of the varied weather conditions she had experienced. Just think how good it would be to never again have to worry about keeping flybridge clears clean!!
From the stern of the vessel, you entered the expansive fishing cockpit after stepping off the teak laid swim platform. One thing you really notice on the Aleutian models is the near 20ft beam making for a sensational feeling of space! Note the fishing cockpit, cockpit, side decks, and the foredeck was all teak laid.
Accommodation on the lower level, as accessed via a staircase to starboard beside the galley level settee, consisted of a forward v-berth cabin, twin cabin with two single bunks to port, and the spacious full beam mid-master. Each cabin had its own toilet and separate shower stall - the forward cabin bathroom was a two-way arrangement with access from the companionway therefore this bathroom also doubled as the day head. Aft of the master cabin, as accessed via a door in the master cabin, you would find a utility room that could be used as either a workshop or crew accommodation. A wet head serviced this area in the event it was used as crew accommodation.
Selected capping rails were varnished and her bright work had been refreshed and was looking good. 'Liberty IV' was indeed a great looking boat and attracted plenty of attention wherever she roamed.
